Elephants Dazzle in 62 Kg of Silver Jewellery as Amer's Elephant Village Hosts Royal Ramp Walk

Ananya soch: To mark World Elephant Day, an extraordinary Elephant Fashion Show was organized on Wednesday at Elephant Village in Amer, leaving tourists mesmerized. Elephants dressed in traditional attire and adorned with ancient jewellery walked the ramp, instantly becoming the center of attraction for everyone present. Female elephants Chanda and Pushpa, along with male elephant Ballu, showcased their royal charm during the event.

What made the show truly special was that Ballu, Pushpa, Chanda, and several other elephants were adorned with nearly 62 kg of traditional silver jewellery. Watching these gentle giants walk the ramp draped in such heavy, intricate silver ornaments left visitors and guests completely amazed. Through this unique celebration, the organizers also aimed to spread awareness about elephant conservation and the need for greater sensitivity towards these magnificent animals.

Alongside the fashion show, special stalls were set up for the elephants, featuring nearly 3,000 kg of assorted fruits. The elephants thoroughly enjoyed feasting on the fresh fruits, delighting both children and adults who had gathered to witness the spectacle. Adding to the festive mood, the birthday of female elephant Jonali was also celebrated in a unique style, complete with a special cake-cutting ceremony.

Throughout the event, tourists were seen capturing this remarkable sight on their cameras, eager to preserve the memory of this one-of-a-kind celebration. Notably, diplomats from Armenia and Somalia were also present at the event, and they highly appreciated this unique initiative that beautifully blended Indian culture with wildlife conservation.
