Rajasthan's ₹8 Lakh Crore Investment Boom: Chief Secretary Sets Big December Deadline for More

Ananya soch: The Rising Rajasthan initiative has created a highly favourable environment for investment across the state, said Chief Secretary V. Srinivas at a review meeting held at the Secretariat on Monday. He directed officials to work in a coordinated and time-bound manner to push as many MoUs as possible to the ground-breaking stage before the upcoming Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas, scheduled for December 10, in line with the Chief Minister's vision.

During the meeting, senior officials from various departments briefed the Chief Secretary on the status of pending cases, following which he instructed them to ensure quick resolution. He said that files and proposals related to investment projects must be processed without delay, and that constant coordination with District Collectors is essential to remove roadblocks on a priority basis. He specifically flagged the Energy and Revenue departments for closer monitoring of progress.

Land-related issues also came under sharp focus. The Chief Secretary directed that matters concerning land identification and allotment be resolved swiftly, so that investment proposals don't get stuck in unnecessary bureaucratic delays and can move faster toward implementation.

Additional Chief Secretary (Industries) Shikhar Agrawal informed the meeting that investment proposals worth over ₹35 lakh crore under Rising Rajasthan are currently at various stages of processing. Of this, projects worth more than ₹8 lakh crore have already reached the ground-breaking stage — a significant milestone for the state's economic push. He added that cases requiring approval should be cleared promptly, and where approval isn't feasible, a quick decision should still be made rather than letting files pile up.

The meeting also reviewed department-wise targets against actual progress, with officials instructed to closely track investment cases and speed up action to meet set goals. Senior officials from multiple departments attended in person, while District Collectors joined via video conference.

With the December deadline approaching fast, all eyes are now on how many more MoUs Rajasthan can convert from paper commitments into real, ground-level projects.
