Ananya soch: A grand welcome awaited social activist Mahipal Singh Makrana as he reached Jaipur's Royal City Chauraha on Saturday, led by Ujagar Singh Dabla, provincial president of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena. Office-bearers of the organisation, prominent citizens, and hundreds of enthusiastic youth showered flower petals, garlanded him, and welcomed him with loud cheers and slogans.
Makrana has been on a historic 600-kilometre foot march (Yatra) demanding the rollback of the UGC Law (University Grants Commission Law). His journey began on July 11, 2026, from the revered Karni Mata Temple in Deshnok, Bikaner, and after nearly three weeks of walking through villages and towns, it finally reached Jaipur on August 1 — where the community turned out in large numbers to honour his determination.
Speaking on the occasion, provincial president Ujagar Singh Dabla called the campaign truly inspiring, stating that the entire community stands firmly behind this movement and will continue to support it until justice is served. Mahipal Singh Makrana, addressing the gathering, said that this Yatra represents the community's fight for rights, justice, and awareness.
