₹290 Crore Infrastructure Push to Transform Rajasthan’s Industrial Landscape: RIICO-PWD Partnership Set to Unlock Faster Growth and Investment

Ananya soch: In a major step towards strengthening Rajasthan’s industrial ecosystem, RIICO (Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation) and the Public Works Department (PWD) have joined hands to develop critical road infrastructure connecting key industrial areas across the state. The ambitious initiative is expected to significantly improve Industrial Connectivity, Logistics Efficiency, and Investment Potential in Rajasthan.

Under a Cost-Sharing Model, RIICO and PWD will jointly undertake the construction, widening, and strengthening of 38 approach roads linked to industrial areas. The project covers nearly 205 kilometres of roads with an estimated investment of ₹290.82 crore, with both agencies contributing 50 percent of the total cost.

The identified roads connect major industrial hubs in Abu Road, Ajmer, Balotra, Banswara, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Churu, Dausa, Jaipur, Jalore, Jhalawar, Kota, Neemrana, Sawai Madhopur, Sri Ganganagar, and Udaipur. These routes play a crucial role in the smooth transportation of Raw Materials, Finished Goods, and Industrial Supplies, making them vital for business operations.

PWD has already issued the Administrative and Financial Approval for the project. Following approval by RIICO’s Board of Directors, the corporation has transferred the first installment of ₹72.70 crore to PWD, representing 50 percent of its initial financial commitment. The department is now expected to invite tenders and begin execution of the road upgradation works.

Water Infrastructure to Receive Major Boost

Apart from road development, RIICO has also approved plans to strengthen Drinking Water Infrastructure in 24 industrial areas. The projects, to be implemented through the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), carry an estimated cost of ₹143 crore and aim to ensure reliable water supply for industries and workers.

Industry experts believe that improved infrastructure is often the deciding factor for investors when selecting manufacturing destinations. With enhanced Road Connectivity, Water Supply, and Industrial Infrastructure, Rajasthan is positioning itself as one of India’s most attractive destinations for industrial expansion.

The twin initiatives underline RIICO’s commitment to accelerating Industrial Development, improving ease of doing business, and creating a stronger foundation for long-term economic growth in the state.
