On Sunday, Maha Space hosted a stage adaptation of the popular story 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory', where child actor Arvik Bairathi, along with four other kids, brought the tale to life. The standout moment of the evening was Arvik taking on more characters than anyone else in the cast. He slipped into the roles of Charlie, the Narrator, the Grandparents, Grandpa Joe, Willy Wonka and Mr. Wonka, moving seamlessly between six distinct personas, a feat that would be impressive for any actor, let alone a young one.

Arvik Shares His Experience

Talking about his performance, Arvik said switching between so many characters turned out to be both a fun and rewarding experience for him. Each role came with its own tone and personality, which meant he had to shift his acting style repeatedly through the play. Among all the characters he played, Arvik said Charlie remains closest to his heart. According to him, Charlie is a kind-hearted child who deeply loves his family and constantly thinks about their wellbeing. It is this simplicity and warmth that made the character so special to portray.

In the play, a group of children arrive at Willy Wonka's mysterious chocolate factory, where they face a series of tricky challenges along the way.
