From Transit Point to Growth Engine: Khairthal Station’s Grand Transformation Set to Boost Trade and Jobs

Ananya soch: The transformation of Khairthal Railway Station in Alwar district marks a major leap in regional infrastructure, positioning the town as a rising hub for trade, connectivity, and economic growth. Known for its vibrant grain and vegetable markets, Khairthal is now set to gain a modern identity with upgraded railway facilities.

A Key Connectivity Hub Gets a New Life

Located under the Jaipur division of North Western Railway, the station has long served as a vital link for nearby towns such as Kishangarh Bas and Tijara. With 46 trains halting daily and an average footfall of around 4,800 passengers, the station plays a crucial role in regional mobility and commerce.

₹12.79 Crore Upgrade Brings World-Class Facilities

Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme by Indian Railways, the station has undergone a comprehensive redevelopment costing ₹12.79 crore. The station building has been fully renovated, featuring a modern façade and an expanded circulating area increased from 1,200 to 3,600 square metres.

Separate entry and exit points, along with dedicated parking for two-wheelers and four-wheelers, have significantly improved accessibility and traffic management.

Enhanced Passenger Amenities and Accessibility

A 12-metre-wide foot overbridge, built at a cost of ₹4.19 crore, now connects platforms seamlessly, complete with ramps and covered sheds. Platform shelters have been expanded, and over 4,000 square metres of platform surface has been upgraded.

Inside the station, artistic installations spanning 300 square metres add aesthetic appeal. New waiting halls, modern toilets, help booths, ramps, dedicated ticket counters for दिव्यांग passengers, and improved signage ensure a comfortable and inclusive travel experience.

Driving Regional Growth and Opportunities

Beyond infrastructure, the redevelopment is expected to catalyse local trade, tourism, and employment. Improved connectivity will strengthen economic activities and open new opportunities for businesses and residents alike. Khairthal’s upgraded station stands as a testament to how strategic infrastructure investment can reshape the future of emerging towns.
