Nari Shakti Vandan Act Marks a New Era of Women Empowerment in India: Neeta Boochra
Ananya soch: Calling the Nari Shakti Vandan Act a transformative step for women empowerment, Neeta Boochra said that the legislation marks the beginning of a new era for women in India. Addressing a press conference organized by The Earth Association at Jai Club, she emphasized that the Act will not only ensure political representation for women but also strengthen their role in decision-making processes.
Welcoming the Act, Boochra stated that empowering women leads to the empowerment of families, society, and the nation as a whole. She highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has consistently promoted women’s development across social and economic spheres, culminating in this landmark legislation. “This is not just about women’s development, but about women-led development,” she added, underlining the broader vision behind the initiative.
She further noted that the Act will open new political opportunities for women across sectors, enabling more balanced and inclusive policymaking. According to her, when women actively participate in legislative bodies such as Parliament and State Assemblies, governance becomes more responsive to grassroots realities.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Hemlata Sharma, President of The Earth Association, described the Act as a milestone in advancing women’s participation in politics. She said that the long-standing need to increase women’s representation has finally been addressed through this law, which will strengthen their voice in shaping national policies.
Dr. Sheela Agrawal added that the Act will bring positive social change and help build an inclusive environment for future generations. She emphasized that empowering women today will lay the foundation for a stronger and more equitable society tomorrow.
At the conclusion of the event, participants collectively expressed their support for the successful implementation of the Act and urged all sections of society to back this initiative. They also reaffirmed their commitment to continue working toward holistic women empowerment.
