Ananya soch: In a heartfelt tribute to art, culture, and history, members of the artistic community commemorated the anniversary of the Rabindranath Tagore Statue installed on June 9, 1982, under the joint aegis of Kalavritt and Trimurti Sanstha. The statue, created by renowned painter and sculptor Dr. Sumhendra, was inaugurated by former Rajasthan Chief Minister Shiv Charan Mathur and remains one of Jaipur’s most recognized cultural landmarks.

Speaking on the occasion, Kalavritt President Sandeep Sumhendra said the statue stands as a timeless symbol of creativity, literature, and artistic excellence. Artists and distinguished guests paid floral tributes to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore and honored his contribution to Indian culture with the National Anthem.

Adding a vibrant artistic dimension to the celebration, Kalavritt organized a two-day Landscape Art Camp, where noted artists Sant Kumar, Hemal Kankarwal, Rashmi Rajawat, Kritika Bajaj, and Harsh Sharma, along with students from the Rajasthan School of Art, created live sketches and paintings of the Tagore Statue and Ravindra Manch.

The event also brought together several prominent personalities from the fields of art, culture, and public life. Special recognition was given to Om Prakash Meena, who assisted Dr. Sumhendra during the creation of the statue, highlighting the collaborative effort behind the iconic artwork.

Kalavritt spokesperson Digant Sharma expressed gratitude to all participants and shared details about upcoming cultural initiatives. The gathering not only celebrated Gurudev Tagore’s enduring legacy but also reminded attendees of Dr. Sumhendra’s invaluable contribution to Rajasthan’s artistic and cultural landscape.
