Ananya soch: Rajasthan’s vibrant folk culture is all set to captivate an international audience once again. Renowned folk artist Rahees Bharti and his world-famous Dhod Band will deliver a special performance at the prestigious Bonjour Modi event in Paris, France, on June 18, 2026. The event is being organized in honor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is expected to celebrate the growing cultural and diplomatic ties between India and France.

The grand cultural gathering will take place at the iconic Salle Pleyel Concert Hall, one of Paris’ most prestigious venues. The selection of Rahees Bharti and Dhod Band by the Embassy of India in Paris is being viewed as a significant recognition of Rajasthan’s rich folk traditions and India’s cultural diversity.

Currently on their Europe Tour 2026, the Dhod Band consists of nearly 20 folk artists from remote villages of Rajasthan. These artists have been mesmerizing audiences across Europe with authentic performances showcasing the colors, rhythms, and traditions of Indian folk music.

For more than 26 years, Rahees Bharti has been dedicated to promoting Indian culture on global platforms. Under his leadership, Dhod Band has performed in over 119 countries, creating a remarkable milestone in the world of folk music. The group has become a powerful cultural ambassador for India, carrying the sounds of Rajasthan to international stages.

Bharti’s efforts have also opened doors for more than 700 folk artists from communities such as Langa, Manganiyar, Kalbelia, Damami, Dhadhi, and Rana, helping them gain national and international recognition. Through these initiatives, several traditional art forms that once struggled for visibility are now celebrated across the world.

The Bonjour Modi performance is expected to be a defining moment not only for Dhod Band but also for Rajasthan’s cultural legacy. Following the Paris event, the group has been invited to perform at major Music Festivals and Cultural Events in Portugal, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, and several French cities. Expressing his excitement, Rahees Bharti said that performing at an event honoring Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a matter of immense pride. He added that this opportunity represents the collective honor of Rajasthan’s folk artists and India’s timeless cultural heritage.
