₹462 Crore Transformation in Motion PIB Jaipur Media Delegation Reviews Railway Redevelopment and Healthcare Excellence in Chandigarh

Ananya soch:  A delegation of senior editors and reporters from Rajasthan, organized by the Press Information Bureau Jaipur, is on a study tour to Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana from 18 to 23 February . The delegation reviewed major railway redevelopment works and leading public healthcare services during the visit .Officials from the Rail Land Development Authority informed that the Chandigarh Railway Station is being redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme at a cost of ₹462 crore . The project, executed in EPC mode, has achieved 87 percent physical and 75 percent financial progress .The redevelopment covers 1,92,248 square metres and includes G plus 3 buildings on both Chandigarh and Panchkula sides, a 72 metre wide air concourse, two 12 metre wide foot over bridges, 30 lifts and 10 escalators . A 1350 kWp solar plant and a modern Building Management System will ensure green and smart operations . The goal is to create an airport like passenger experience while preserving local architectural identity . The delegation also visited the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research where officials highlighted the effective implementation of Ayushman Bharat and advanced tertiary healthcare services . Thousands of beneficiaries have received treatment since 2019 across oncology, cardiology, neurosurgery and other specialties, including 211 kidney transplants .The visit provided valuable insights into infrastructure modernization and public health delivery, reinforcing the importance of informed journalism in communicating development initiatives to the public .
