Jaipur Filmmaker Usha Dashora’s Film Selected for Prestigious Delhi International Film Festival 2026
Ananya soch: In a proud moment for Jaipur’s creative community, noted writer and filmmaker Usha Dashora has achieved a significant milestone. Her film “Maine Kabhi Chidiya Nahin Dekhi” has been officially selected for the prestigious Delhi International Film Festival 2026, to be held in New Delhi from May 4 to 8 with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The screenings will take place at Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts and Dr. Ambedkar International Centre.
The approximately 70-minute film, created in Hindi and Rajasthani, has been both written and directed by Dashora herself. It delves into the sensitive themes of child psychology and environmental awareness. Through a compelling narrative, the film captures children’s curiosity, emotional connection, and growing disconnect with nature, birds, and the environment.
According to Dashora, the film is not merely a story but a thought-provoking reflection on how children today are drifting away from nature. It raises an important question about the changing relationship between younger generations and the natural world.
She expressed that this selection has brought immense encouragement to the entire team and will also contribute to giving regional cinema—especially the Rajasthani film industry—a broader platform and recognition.
This achievement is being seen as a major milestone for Jaipur and Rajasthan’s artistic landscape, inspiring emerging filmmakers and creative talents across the region.
