Bishnoi Saints and Environmental Thinkers Felicitate CM Bhajanlal Sharma for Historic Khejri Conservation Law Announcement
Ananya soch: (Khejri Tree Protection) Environment-loving saints and eminent citizens met Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Sunday at the Chief Minister’s Residence and expressed their gratitude for the announcement to bring a dedicated law for the protection of the sacred Khejri tree. Saints and representatives of the Bishnoi community from various districts described the decision, announced in the State Assembly on February 5, as historic and said it has created widespread happiness in society.
(Bishnoi Saints Rajasthan) Mukam Peethadhishwar Shri Ramanand Ji Maharaj thanked the Chief Minister, stating that after nearly 70 years, the state government’s initiative to legally protect the Khejri tree is highly commendable and a matter of pride for Rajasthan. Mahant Swami Sachchidanand Ji recalled that on August 27, 2025, Chief Minister Sharma had listened to the suggestions of environmentalist saints and representatives regarding Khejri conservation and has now fulfilled that commitment by announcing the law in the Assembly.
(Environmental Conservation Law) Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that his government is fully committed to Khejri and environmental conservation. He assured that the process of drafting the law is underway in line with the suggestions of saints and stakeholders and that it will be enacted soon. He highlighted India’s cultural tradition of revering trees, rivers, mountains, and saints, and praised the Bishnoi community for giving the world a model of living in harmony with nature.
(Rajasthan Environment News) Paying homage to Bhagwan Jambheshwar Ji and Maa Amrita Devi, the Chief Minister said that the 29 principles propounded by Jambheshwar Ji remain a powerful framework for environmental protection even today. He also shared that inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, the state has planted 20 crore saplings in the last two years, with a target of over 50 crore plantations in five years.On the occasion, the Chief Minister honoured the saints with traditional scarves and coconuts.
