Jaipur to Host a Grand Symphony of Heritage: 42nd Pt. Manmohan Bhatt National Music Festival Set to Mesmerize Audiences

Jaipur to Celebrate Two Magical Evenings of Indian Classical Music

Ananya soch: One of India's most prestigious Classical Music Festivals, the 42nd Pt. Manmohan Bhatt National Memorial Music Festival, will be held on July 27 and 28 at the Main Auditorium of the Rajasthan International Centre (RIC). Organized jointly by Prachin Kala Kendra, Chandigarh, and Rajasthan International Centre, the festival will begin each evening from 7 PM to 9 PM, offering audiences a rare opportunity to experience India's finest musical traditions. Entry to the event will remain free of cost.

Grammy Award-winning and Padma Bhushan recipient Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, son of the legendary Pt. Manmohan Bhatt, announced that this year's edition will feature some of the country's most celebrated national and international performers. For the first time in the festival's history, the opening evening will begin with a mesmerizing Kathak Performance by Shinjini Kulkarni, granddaughter of Padma Vibhushan Pt. Birju Maharaj. She will be followed by an enchanting Flute Recital by Nibir Sharma, disciple of Padma Vibhushan Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia.

The audience will also witness the screening of "Aao Ni Padharo Mhare Des", a cultural film by Jaipur-based filmmaker Manisha Agrawal, beautifully showcasing Rajasthan's rich heritage. The first day will conclude with a soulful Hindustani Classical Vocal performance by Pt. Umesh Kampuwale, disciple of Padma Bhushan Pt. Rajan-Sajan Mishra, accompanied by Pt. Himanshu Mahant and Kaushik Konwar on tabla.

On July 28, the spotlight will shift to instrumental masterpieces. Pt. Partha Bose from Kolkata will present an elegant Sitar Recital, followed by renowned Mumbai violin virtuoso Deepak Pandit. The festival will culminate with a captivating Santoor Performance by Padma Shri Pt. Satish Vyas. Distinguished personalities from various fields will also be honoured with the Pt. Manmohan Bhatt National Music Award.

Speaking about the festival's vision, Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt said the event is a tribute to his father's lifelong dedication to music and the timeless Guru-Shishya Tradition. Pt. Salil Bhatt added that beyond presenting extraordinary performances, the festival aims to inspire young musicians and preserve India's rich Classical Music Heritage for future generations.
