Baahubali Universe Set to Go Global, Arka Media Works Partners With Dream Theatre for Merchandising Push
A blockbuster franchise that earned over ₹2,400 crore worldwide now eyes a full-fledged consumer brand journey with animated feature 'The Eternal War'
Ananya soch: 'Baahubali' universe is no longer confined to the big screen. Having grossed more than ₹2,400 crore globally, the franchise is now gearing up to transform into a global consumer brand. To make this happen, Arka Media Works has announced a major partnership with Dream Theatre Private Limited.
Dream Theatre Named Exclusive Partner for India, Strategic Partner for International Markets
Under this agreement, Dream Theatre has been appointed as the exclusive licensing and merchandising partner for India, while also taking on the role of strategic partner for international licensing, sponsorships, brand associations and promotional tie-ups. The collaboration brings together Baahubali's well-established franchise with Dream Theatre's expertise in building licensing and consumer product programmes across entertainment and lifestyle categories.
Baahubali's Story Continues After Death, Journey Through 14 Realms Awaits
The franchise is now stepping into the world of animation as well. Directed by Ishaan Shukla and produced by Arka Media Works, the two-part CGI animated feature 'Baahubali: The Eternal War' picks up Baahubali's story after his death, following him into the afterlife as he confronts a formidable challenge spanning 14 realms. Drawing inspiration from Indian mythology, the film promises to create an entirely new visual universe through stylised animation. Notably, the project has already been selected for the Work in Progress programme at the 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival, earning it international recognition even before release.
From Apparel to Gaming, Baahubali to Enter Every Consumer Category
Dream Theatre will now explore merchandising opportunities across categories including apparel, collectibles, action figures, bags, stationery, publishing and gaming. Alongside this, the partnership will also focus on developing brand associations, promotional collaborations and co-branded initiatives, offering fans fresh ways to engage with the Baahubali universe.
Franchise creator S.S. Rajamouli said Baahubali has always had the potential to extend beyond films, and 'The Eternal War' offers a chance to explore this world in a whole new way. Arka Media Works CEO Shobu Yarlagadda noted that the studio was looking for a partner who understood both business and the spirit of the franchise, and found that in Dream Theatre. Dream Theatre founder and CEO Jiggy George expressed excitement about the partnership, calling it an opportunity to unlock new possibilities across products and experiences for audiences in India and beyond.
