A Grand Celebration of Beauty, Diversity & “Daughters of This Soil” Unfolds in Bhubaneswar
Ananya soch: The 61st edition of Femina Miss India, hosted at KIIT University, concluded on a spectacular note, celebrating not just beauty but purpose, resilience, and modern Indian womanhood. The grand finale witnessed Sadhvi Sail being crowned Femina Miss India World 2026, earning the honour to represent India at the global stage of Miss World. Rajnandini Pawar secured the 1st Runner-Up position, while Sree Advaita was declared the 2nd Runner-Up.
The journey began months ago with a nationwide talent hunt, identifying exceptional young women across five zones of India. Thirty state winners underwent an intensive grooming program in Mumbai, evolving into confident, articulate, and purpose-driven individuals. This year’s theme, “Connecting the DOTS – Daughters of This Soil,” beautifully highlighted India’s unity in diversity.
The collaboration with Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology marked a defining moment, reinforcing the power of education and empowerment under the leadership of Achyuta Samanta. The contestants experienced Odisha’s rich culture, from visiting the sacred Jagannath Temple to the iconic Konark Sun Temple, making the journey culturally immersive.
The finale night dazzled with vibrant performances, including soulful music by Jubin Nautiyal and electrifying acts by Lauren Gottlieb and Ishaan Khatter. Hosted by Maniesh Paul and Sarah Jane Dias, the evening seamlessly blended glamour with meaningful storytelling.
A major highlight was the “Vishwa Sutra – Weaves of India for the World” showcase, celebrating India’s handloom heritage in collaboration with the Ministry of Textiles. The event also stood out for its social impact, raising over ₹66 lakh through the Beauty With a Purpose initiative, supporting children’s healthcare and education.
The distinguished jury featured icons like Zeenat Aman, Madhur Bhandarkar, Neha Dhupia, and Dutee Chand, among others, who evaluated contestants on intelligence, confidence, and purpose.
As the crowns were passed on, Sadhvi Sail emerged as a symbol of grace and determination, embodying the essence of a new-age Indian woman. The event concluded as a powerful reminder that Femina Miss India is not just a pageant—it is a platform shaping future leaders, storytellers, and changemakers.
The grand finale will stream from May 8 on ZEE5 and other platforms.
