Rajasthan Set to Become India’s Green Energy Powerhouse: CM Bhajanlal Sharma

Ananya soch: Rajasthan is rapidly emerging as India’s next major green energy hub, with the state government aggressively pushing renewable energy, electric mobility and sustainable development. Addressing the Rajasthan Energy Conclave on Friday, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that energy conservation remains the cheapest, most effective and sustainable form of energy production.

The Chief Minister stressed that disciplined consumption of fuel and responsible use of resources would pave the way for India’s energy self-reliance. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of saving every drop of fuel, he said the Rajasthan government has already issued guidelines for controlled use of official vehicles and energy conservation measures.

CM Arrives in EV, Sends Strong Green Message

In a symbolic move promoting green mobility, the Chief Minister arrived at the conclave in an electric vehicle (EV). He described fuel conservation and clean energy adoption as a “people’s movement” essential for tackling future energy challenges and reducing carbon emissions.

Rajasthan Invites Investors for Green Energy Expansion

Calling Rajasthan one of the country’s most investment-friendly states, Sharma invited global and domestic investors to participate in the state’s renewable energy revolution. He highlighted that major investment proposals have already been received in solar, wind, bio-energy, pumped storage and green hydrogen projects.

The CM said Rajasthan currently holds the potential for 828 GW solar energy and 284 GW wind energy generation. More than 47 GW renewable energy capacity has already been installed, making Rajasthan a national leader in solar power projects.

Big Push for Solar Parks and EV Charging Infrastructure

The state government has also accelerated work under the PM Kusum Scheme, with over 4,000 MW solar projects already operational and 6,500 MW allocated. More than 12,000 MW solar parks are under construction across the state.

Energy Minister Heeralal Nagar said the government is prioritising EV infrastructure, including fast-charging stations and expansion of solar energy networks across Rajasthan.
