RIICO’s Big Leap: Sports Facilities at Workplaces, Plug & Play Hubs to Power Rajasthan’s Next Generation of Entrepreneurs

Ananya soch: In a significant move aimed at boosting Industrial Development, Startup Growth, and employee well-being, RIICO has accelerated the development of Sports Facilities and Plug & Play Infrastructure across Rajasthan’s industrial areas under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.

The initiative is expected to transform industrial zones into modern business ecosystems where entrepreneurs can launch ventures quickly while employees gain access to recreational and fitness amenities at their workplaces.

RIICO had invited applications for Plug & Play Facilities and Sports Infrastructure, following which e-bidding was conducted for 15 plots. These plots are now being allotted on a rental basis, including 12 plots dedicated to sports facilities and three earmarked for Plug & Play projects.

The sports facility plots have been allocated in major industrial regions including Sitapura Phase-III, Apparel Park, and Bagru (Chhitroli) in Jaipur, Indraprastha Industrial Area in Kota, Boranada in Jodhpur, Abu Road (Arbuda) in Sirohi, Bhiwadi (Karoli) in Khairthal-Tijara, Jhunjhunu-II, Kishangarh, Pali Phase-IV, Kherda in Sawai Madhopur, and Ringas Extension in Sikar.

Meanwhile, Plug & Play facilities will be developed at Sitapura Phase-III (Jaipur), Agro Food Park Boranada (Jodhpur) and Agro Food Park Ranpur (Kota).

Spread across nearly 9 acres, these allotted plots are expected to generate an annual rental revenue of approximately ₹2.28 crore for RIICO. The allotments have been made for a period of 15 years, with a provision for extension of up to 10 additional years as per regulations.

Officials believe the Plug & Play model will be a game-changer for MSMEs, Startups, and first-time entrepreneurs. By eliminating the need for initial construction and infrastructure setup, businesses will be able to commence operations almost immediately, saving both time and investment.

Beyond industrial growth, the introduction of Sports Facilities is expected to enhance workplace wellness, productivity, and employee engagement. With this dual-focus strategy, Rajasthan is positioning itself as a progressive destination for investment, innovation, and employment generation.
