From Classroom Dreams to the Silver Screen: FWICE & IIFFCA Launch Mega Film Initiative for Young India

Ananya soch: In a major step towards empowering India’s next generation of filmmakers and content creators, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) and the Indo International Film Foundation of Culture and Arts Federation (IIFFCA Federation) have jointly announced the launch of the “Aatmanirbhar Vidyarthi Abhiyan” along with the IIFFCA Film Workshop and IIFFCA Film Festival 2026.

The initiative is designed to provide students, aspiring filmmakers, digital creators and media enthusiasts with practical filmmaking knowledge, mentorship from industry experts and an opportunity to showcase their creative talent on a national platform.

Jaipur to host 12-day filmmaking workshop

A press conference regarding the initiative was held on May 23, 2026, in Jaipur. Organisers announced that a one-day seminar will be conducted on June 21, followed by a 12-day Student Film Making Workshop beginning June 25.

Participants will receive practical training in multiple areas of filmmaking, including direction and storytelling, screenplay writing, cinematography, editing and post-production, acting techniques, production management, film marketing and digital content creation.

Special focus will also be given to Artificial Intelligence-based filmmaking and OTT content production, keeping pace with the rapidly changing entertainment industry.

Platform for emerging talent across India

Organisers said the campaign is not just a workshop but a movement to encourage self-reliant and creatively empowered youth. The programme aims to bridge the gap between education and the professional film industry by offering direct exposure to experienced filmmakers and media professionals.

Meanwhile, entries for the IIFFCA Film Festival 2026 will open from June 21. Students, independent filmmakers, media institutions and production houses from across the country will be able to submit their films for screening and awards.

The last date for film submissions is August 5, while the official screenings will take place on August 23. The grand IIFFCA Awards Ceremony is scheduled for August 30, 2026.

Organisers believe the initiative will strengthen Rajasthan’s position as an emerging hub for cinema, creativity and cultural innovation.
