Ananya soch: The first edition of Cinema of The Year (CTA) – Indian Cinema Awards (ICA) 2025 has officially announced its winners, recognising outstanding achievements in Hindi cinema released in 2025. The awards are jointly presented by the Jaipur International Film Festival and the New Delhi Film Festival, celebrating excellence in storytelling, performances, and technical craft—without hosting a physical ceremony.
‘Haq’ Emerges as the Biggest Winner
The courtroom drama Haq dominated the awards, winning Best Film and Best Actress for Yami Gautam. Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal bagged Best Actor for Chhaava, and Aditya Dhar won Best Director for Dhurandhar.
Other major winners included Boman Irani and Seema Biswas in supporting roles, along with multiple technical awards for films like Saiyaara and Superboys of Malegaon.
Focus on Creativity, Not Ceremony
Founder Director Hanu Roj said the initiative aims to highlight cinema that inspires society beyond entertainment. Spokesperson Nitin Sharma added that ICA 2025 reflects transparency, quality, and dedication to cinematic excellence.
New Categories Reflect Changing Cinema Landscape
The inclusion of Best OTT Film and Best Animation Film categories highlights the evolving nature of Indian cinema. Films like The Mehta Boys and Mahavatar Narsimha were recognised, showcasing diversity across platforms and formats.

With films like Haq, Chhaava, Dhurandhar, and Saiyaara leading the honours, ICA 2025 marks a significant step in celebrating India’s cinematic growth. The organisers hope this initiative will continue to set high standards and expand across regional industries.
