Rajasthan’s Local Products Get Global Push: ₹18 Crore Mega Upgrade Set to Transform ODOP Products into International Brands

Ananya soch: Rajasthan is aggressively strengthening its “One District One Product” (ODOP) initiative with a major infrastructure and technology boost aimed at taking the state’s traditional products to international markets. In a significant move under the Panch Gaurav Programme, the state-level committee chaired by Chief Secretary V. Srinivas has approved five major projects worth ₹18.19 crore across key districts of the state.

The projects are designed to improve the quality, testing, storage and processing capabilities of ODOP products so they can compete in global markets with international standards. To ensure speedy implementation, ₹10.76 crore has already been sanctioned in the first phase.

Modern Technology to Boost Traditional Industries

Industries and Commerce Commissioner Neelabh Saxena said that five projects involving Common Facility Centers, testing laboratories and warehousing infrastructure have been approved for Dausa, Churu, Didwana-Kuchaman, Phalodi and Balotra districts.

In Dausa, a Technology Facilitation Center worth ₹3.30 crore will help improve cutting, finishing and design quality in stone-based products. Churu will get a ₹2.5 crore Common BIS Testing Lab and seasoning facility for wood-based products, enabling artisans to produce export-quality handicrafts.

A ₹5.05 crore CNC Machine Technology Center will be established in Didwana-Kuchaman for advanced stone processing. In Phalodi, a climate-controlled warehousing facility worth ₹2.35 crore will help preserve Sonamukhi products for longer periods without damage.

Meanwhile, Balotra’s textile industry will receive a major boost through a Textile Digital Printing Common Facility Center worth nearly ₹5 crore, introducing modern design and printing technologies to local manufacturers.

More Development Projects Already Underway

Officials said projects worth over ₹6 crore are already progressing in several districts under the ODOP Policy during the financial year 2025-26. These include a multi-utility center in Chittorgarh, a rural haat in Hanumangarh, renovation of Shilpgram in Jhunjhunu, expansion of Common Facility Centers in Kota and exhibition infrastructure in Rajsamand.

The government has also focused on worker welfare. Through silicosis prevention camps in Dausa and Deeg, more than 1,500 beneficiaries received health checkups and safety kits.

Up to ₹20 Lakh Financial Support for MSMEs

Under the ODOP Policy-2024, one unique product has been identified in each of Rajasthan’s 41 districts. The policy offers margin money grants of up to ₹20 lakh for micro and small enterprises. Additional support includes subsidies for advanced technology and software, quality certification reimbursements, e-commerce assistance and marketing support.

The initiative is expected to generate employment opportunities, strengthen Rajasthan’s traditional industries and help local products gain stronger visibility in national and global markets.
