A New Boost to Rajasthani Cinema: Short Movie Festival Concludes on a High Note

Ananya soch: In a significant step towards revitalizing Rajasthani cinema, a grand Short Movie Festival was successfully organise on April 14, 2026, at the Science Park Auditorium, Shastri Nagar. The event aimed to provide a dynamic platform for regional filmmakers and emerging talent, while promoting meaningful storytelling.

The festival was jointly organized with the support of Shankar Poddar, GAIT Infotech (Udaipur), RAMS Theatre Group, A.G. Films & Production House, K3 Film Production led by Jyotsna Kaushik, and TAABAR Productions headed by George Grover. Their collective efforts ensured a well-curated and impactful event.

The Chief Guest, Shiv Singh Shekhawat, appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of such platforms in strengthening regional cinema. He expressed optimism about the future growth of the Rajasthani film industry.

A major highlight of the event was the stage presentation of selected scenes from the play “Maun Se Mahasamar”, based on the life of B. R. Ambedkar, written and directed by Jyotsna Kaushik. The performance left the audience deeply moved. Cultural segments added further vibrancy, including a poem titled “Stree” by child artist Niyati and a folk dance performance by Govinda Gurjar.

The festival also featured screenings of socially driven short films such as Ek Call Ki Doori, Anmol, Bina Phatak Ki Railway Line, Hamari Betiyan (trailer), and Wapsi. These films were widely appreciated for their impactful messages and storytelling.

The event was efficiently coordinated by Jyotsna Kaushik, Aneesh Gaur, George Grover, and Sushil Sharma, ensuring a seamless experience for participants and audiences alike. With around 160 attendees, the festival witnessed enthusiastic participation and positive feedback.

The celebration concluded on a cheerful note with the team celebrating George Grover’s birthday, adding warmth and joy to the occasion. Overall, the festival proved to be a strong foundation for the bright future of Rajasthani cinema.
