Witch or Bride? Yami Gautam's 'Nai Naveli' Mystery Set to Explode This Dussehra

Produced in partnership by Amazon MGM Studios and Colour Yellow, the film 'Nai Naveli' will release on October 16, 2026. Actress Yami Gautam Dhar will be seen in the lead role of this fantasy family drama, and this time her character carries a shade completely different from anything she's played before.

The story revolves around a newly-married bride who steps into a chaotic, quirky family in Meerut right after her wedding. In the beginning, she wins everyone's heart — coming across as composed, sensible, and the perfect daughter-in-law. But slowly, the story takes a turn. Her brother-in-law starts to feel that such perfection simply cannot be real, and a question begins to nag at him — is his sister-in-law actually human, or could she be a witch?

This suspense is the soul of the film. Packed with humour, family bickering, and a dash of fantasy, the story claims to keep audiences hooked right till the end. The film is directed by Balaji Mohan, while the story comes from the pens of Himanshu Sharma and Divya Nidhi Sharma. It is produced by Anand L. Rai and Himanshu Sharma, with music helmed by G.V. Prakash Kumar.

Nikhil Madhok of Amazon MGM Studios shared that when the team saw the final cut of the film, everyone was convinced it was the perfect fit for a festival like Dussehra. The makers claim the film is meant to be watched with the whole family — packed with comedy, thrill, and a mystery that will keep viewers guessing until the very end.
