Ananya soch: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that public prosecutors are a crucial pillar of the justice delivery system, playing a significant role not only in representing the state in legal matters but also in safeguarding justice, constitutional values, and citizens’ rights. He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to ensuring accessible, transparent, and speedy justice for every individual across Rajasthan.

The Chief Minister was addressing a workshop organized by the Law and Legal Affairs Department for public prosecutors and special public prosecutors at Birla Auditorium on Saturday. He emphasized that continuous training and capacity building are essential in view of evolving laws and changing judicial perspectives. According to him, the workshop would help prosecutors become more aware, sensitive, and efficient in dealing with new criminal laws, cyber laws, and laws concerning persons with disabilities.

New Criminal Laws Mark a Historic Shift in India’s Justice System

Chief Minister Sharma stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has initiated a transformative reform through the introduction of three new criminal laws aimed at freeing India’s justice system from colonial-era thinking and making it more citizen-centric. He noted that the new laws prioritize justice over punishment and place ordinary citizens at the center of the legal process.

He further highlighted that the reforms strongly focus on modernization of the judicial system through Digital India initiatives and e-governance, ensuring faster, technology-driven, and more transparent legal procedures.

Rajasthan Establishes 42 New Courts

The Chief Minister said that the Rajasthan Government is fully committed to the successful implementation of the new criminal laws. Comprehensive training programs are being conducted for police personnel and prosecution officers to ensure effective understanding and enforcement of the laws.

He announced that the state government has established 42 new courts across Rajasthan to strengthen judicial accessibility. District and Sessions Courts have been set up in Phalodi, Didwana-Kuchaman, Khairthal-Tijara, Beawar, Barmer, Deeg, Kotputli-Behror, and Salumber. Additionally, regular Additional District and Sessions Courts have been established in Bari Sadri and Keshoraipatan.

Special courts under the Prevention of Corruption Act have also been opened in Jhunjhunu, Pratapgarh, Tonk, Rajsamand, Chittorgarh, Baran, and Sikar. Furthermore, special courts under the POCSO Act have been established in Hanumangarh, Sawai Madhopur, Churu, Bikaner, and Jodhpur, while a Special Judicial Magistrate Court under the NI Act has been set up in Jhunjhunu.

Over 27,000 People Provided Legal Assistance

Highlighting the government’s welfare-oriented legal initiatives, Chief Minister Sharma stated that more than 27,000 individuals have received legal aid from the state government. Under the Rajasthan Victim Compensation Scheme, financial assistance worth ₹85 crore has been provided to nearly 4,000 victims.

He also noted that around 77 lakh people have benefited through nearly 1.20 lakh legal literacy camps organized across the state. The government is also strengthening digital justice infrastructure by equipping court buildings with modern facilities such as video conferencing systems.

Rajasthan Intensifies Cyber Security Measures

The Chief Minister said the state government remains highly vigilant regarding cyber security and cyber crime prevention. He informed that a Cyber Security Simulation Lab has been established to tackle emerging digital threats. Under “Operation Cyber Shield,” strict action is being taken against cyber criminals while efforts to curb cyber crimes have been intensified.

He added that nearly 10,000 cyber awareness programs have been organized across Rajasthan, benefiting more than 12 lakh citizens and helping spread awareness about cyber safety and online fraud prevention.

Cyber Police Stations in Every District by 2030

In a major announcement, Chief Minister Sharma said cyber help desks have already been established at all police stations across the state, and cyber police stations will be set up in every district by the year 2030.

The government is also planning to establish the Rajasthan Cyber Crime Control Center to prevent and control digital arrest frauds and other cyber crimes. In addition, AI-based cyber crime analysis systems and cyber helpline call centers will be introduced to enhance monitoring, investigation, and rapid response mechanisms.

Sensitivity Towards Persons with Disabilities Emphasized

Speaking about inclusivity and social justice, the Chief Minister said persons with disabilities symbolize strength and dignity. Referring to the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, he highlighted the government’s efforts toward ensuring equality, non-discrimination, education, and barrier-free environments for differently-abled citizens. He urged public prosecutors to handle cases related to persons with disabilities with greater sensitivity and seriousness.

Experts’ Guidance Will Help Address Future Legal Challenges

Chief Minister Sharma said that law today has become the foundation of social justice and public welfare. He expressed confidence that the workshop would enhance the efficiency and capabilities of prosecutors, while expert guidance and discussions would help identify solutions to present and future challenges in the legal sector.

Law and Legal Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel said the Rajasthan Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, is continuously working to ensure justice reaches every citizen.

The workshop was attended by Advocate General Rajendra Prasad, Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal Secretary of Law Department Raghavendra Kachhwal, senior officials of the Law and Legal Affairs Department, along with a large number of prosecutors and advocates.
