Ananya soch: In a remarkable display of collective action, Reliance Foundation has launched the #Water4Life campaign, inspiring over 33,000 volunteers across India to restore and protect vital water ecosystems. Initiated on the occasion of World Water Day 2026, the campaign is rapidly evolving into a powerful, volunteer-driven national movement.

Massive Impact Across 1,400+ Water Bodies

Within just 10 days, the initiative has mobilized communities across 108 districts in 15 states and 1 Union Territory. Volunteers have successfully cleaned over 1,400 water bodies across 912 villages, removing more than 85,000 kg of waste. From riverbanks and lake shores to beaches and ponds, the campaign is creating visible environmental impact.

Beyond Clean-Up: A Long-Term Sustainability Mission

#Water4Life goes beyond surface-level clean-ups. It integrates water governance, community ownership, and sustainable practices. Farmers, women’s groups, youth, healthcare workers, and local institutions have actively participated, ensuring long-term conservation efforts. Pre-campaign awareness drives also emphasized water literacy and waste reduction.

Iconic Locations Witness Collective Action

Key locations such as the Narmada river ghats, Kochi Beach, Rankala Lake, and tributaries of the Godavari and Krishna rivers have seen large-scale participation. From fishing communities in Kerala to school children in Karnataka, people from all walks of life have united for a common cause.

Village Climate Champions Lead the Way

Over 2,500 trained Village Climate Champions are playing a crucial role in spreading awareness and encouraging grassroots action. Their efforts are strengthening community-driven environmental stewardship.

Building on its extensive rural transformation work across 91,000+ villages, Reliance Foundation aims to make #Water4Life a sustained national movement. With over 2,000 lakh cubic metres of water already conserved, the initiative is set to play a vital role in securing India’s water future.
