350 Young Theatre Stars Set to Steal the Spotlight at JKK Summer Camp Finale

Ananya soch: Creativity, imagination, and theatrical energy are reaching their peak at the Junior Summer Camp 2026 being held at Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK). As preparations intensify for the much-awaited finale, the camp bid an emotional farewell on Wednesday to its most celebrated daily newsletter activity, “Shahenshah-e-Khabri,” a unique initiative that transformed children into young storytellers, reporters, and performers.

In a heartwarming tribute, theatre mentors stepped into the shoes of the children and staged a special enactment performance reflecting the vibrant atmosphere of the workshop. The presentation beautifully captured the imagination, enthusiasm, and strong bonds formed between participants and trainers over the past month, leaving the audience both entertained and emotional.

The month-long Theatre Workshop has brought together nearly 350 children aged between 8 and 17 years, divided into 10 creative groups. Each group developed its own identity, complete with a unique name, tagline, newsletter, and group anthem. These creative identities are now set to take center stage during the camp’s closing celebrations.

One of the workshop’s biggest highlights was the daily Newsletter Presentation, where children gathered news, created content, and delivered it in innovative theatrical formats. Based on creativity, teamwork, presentation skills, and originality, the best-performing group was awarded the coveted “Shahenshah-e-Khabri” title. The winning team was also rewarded with a special ice-cream treat, making the competition both exciting and memorable.

Groups such as Little Ninjas, Siren, I Bruce, Doorbeen, Switch Board, Machhardani, Jhamela, Zero Sugar, and Karwan have emerged as crowd favorites with their distinctive themes and performances. Their newsletters—including Siren Times, I Bruce Bulletin, Doorbeen Darshan, Current Connection, Jhamela Junction, and Karwan News—have become powerful platforms for creative expression and observation.

The excitement now shifts to the Grand Theatre Festival, scheduled from June 18 to June 20, 2026, at Rangayan Auditorium, where children will present original theatrical productions every evening from 7 PM to 9 PM. More than a series of performances, the event promises to be a celebration of imagination, teamwork, leadership, and self-expression.

As the curtains prepare to rise, the finale stands as a tribute to hundreds of young minds who discovered confidence, creativity, and the magic of theatre through play, performance, and storytelling.
