Veteran actress and noted interior designer Zarine Khan, wife of veteran actor Sanjay Khan and mother of Sussanne Khan, passed away on Friday morning at her Mumbai residence. She was 81. Zarine had been battling age-related health issues for some time.
A part of classic films like Tere Ghar Ke Samne and Ek Phool Do Mali, Zarine Khan was admired for her elegance, poise, and contribution to both cinema and design. Her demise has left the entire Khan-Roshan family and the film fraternity in deep sorrow.
She is survived by her husband Sanjay Khan, daughters Sussanne Khan, Simone Arora, Farah Ali Khan, and son Zayed Khan. The last rites were performed in Mumbai on Friday, attended by close family members and friends from the industry.
Several Bollywood celebrities arrived to pay their final respects. Actor Hrithik Roshan, Zarine’s former son-in-law, and his partner Saba Azad were also seen at the funeral, visibly emotional and grief-stricken.
The industry has expressed heartfelt condolences, remembering Zarine as a graceful presence who brought warmth and sophistication wherever she went. Her passing marks the end of an era in the Khan family’s illustrious legacy.
