Ananya soch: Reliance Launches Extensive Seva Initiatives to Enhance Rath Yatra Experience for Lakhs of Devotees: As the sacred Rath Yatra begins in Puri, Reliance Industries Limited, in partnership with the Puri district administration, has launched a series of comprehensive service initiatives to support lakhs of devotees during the 13-day festival. The goal: to ensure a safe, smooth, and spiritually uplifting experience for all.In keeping with its core value of seva, Reliance Foundation—under its We Care philosophy—is playing a key role in facilitating essential services such as food, crowd management, sanitation, and heat relief.
“Seva is deeply rooted in Reliance’s ‘We Care’ philosophy, and the opportunity to serve devotees in Puri is truly a blessing. We believe that by serving pilgrims and personnel during the Rath Yatra, we are serving the divine,” said Shri Anant M. Ambani, Executive Director, Reliance Industries Limited. “Our initiatives are aimed at enriching the pilgrimage through comfort, care, and safety.”
Key Highlights of Reliance’s Rath Yatra Seva Initiatives:
• Anna Seva: Reliance Foundation is providing hot, nutritious meals to lakhs of devotees and police personnel at six strategic locations along the yatra route.
• Hygiene & Sanitation: Contactless sanitiser dispensers have been installed at food stalls; garbage disposal bags are being provided in coordination with local authorities; sanitation facilities have been extended to police camps.
• Crowd Facilitation: In partnership with municipal and police teams, Reliance is supporting smooth movement of devotees through signage, direction markers, and guidance points.
• Volunteer Force: Over 4,000 trained volunteers in uniform have been deployed to assist with crowd control, distribute water, and help manage essential services.
• Heat Relief Measures: More than 1.5 lakh eco-friendly hand fans are being distributed to help pilgrims stay cool amid the summer heat.
• Police Assistance: 100 police aid posts have been established, offering shelter and support for on-duty personnel as well as a help point for devotees in need.
• Monsoon Preparedness: Given the likelihood of rain, 3,500 raincoats have been provided to police staff. Refreshment kits are also being distributed among municipal workers, police, and volunteers.
These efforts build on Reliance’s earlier support at the Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, where lakhs of visitors benefited from services related to food, health, and transport.
